Instructions after surgery LASIK

After the operation, your vision will be relatively blurry.

You may also have the following symptoms:

  • Foreign body sensation
  • Itching
  • Tearing
  • Redness
  • Red spots in the white area of the eye
  • Swelling of the eyelids
  • Sensitivity to light
  • Headache

Immediately after the operation and for the duration of the first day, you must keep your eyes as long as you can, closed. This will relieve you.

All this is completely normal and transient. Your eye drops, artificial tears and a night of good sleep after surgery will help you to cope with them.

Most patients are ready to return to their daily activities after 1 to 4 days.

In any other case please contact us immediately.

Eye Drops

  • Shake the eye drops thoroughly before each use.
  • Squeeze 1-2 drops of each eye, 4 times a day, for the appropriate days.
  • Before using the second eye drops, wait five minutes.

Vigamox (antibiotic):
One drop 4 times a day in the eye that will be operated.

Dexafree (cortisone):
One drop 4 times a day in the eye that will be operated.

Thealoz Duo (Artificial tears):
Use at will if you deem that you have significant eye irritation. (They help to moisten the eyes and make the vision more comfortable)

Back home:

  • The eye drops are not used during night sleep.
  • They will also be applied with a difference of 5-6 minutes from each other irrespective of order.
  • During sleep, you may place ocular covers for protection, which get bogged down with paper tape.
  • It is very important to pay attention to the hygiene of your eyes for 7 days after surgery.
  • Do not touch or rub your eyes.
  • You can work out in at least 7 days after surgery and in consultation with your doctor.
  • Do not swim for 7 days and do not let the water run up your eyes. Bathe with help and with your head tilted back and eyes closed, as at the hairdresser.
  • Avoid using cosmetics, eye makeup, mascara, and colored contact lenses for at least 7 days after surgery.
  • Avoid driving until you feel confident about your eyesight.
