Some very useful tips and valuable instructions after a laser refractive procedure for correcting your refractive errors (myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism) are the following:
Returning to work the following day is feasible for those who have undergone the femto – LASIK technique
For your next hair wash, do it with care (keep your eyes tightly closed)
You do not need to drive after the surgical operation
Avoid physical exercise for a few days
Do not rub your eyes
Avoid cosmetics or mascara around the eye area for the next period of time
Avoid swimming for a few days
Stay away from dusty or smoky environments
Strictly follow the post – operative medication prescribed by your medical physician, depending on the refractive technique which was used intra-operatively
If you have undergone the trans PRK method, your doctor will remove the therapeutic contact lenses (without prescription), that were temporarily placed for eye protection, usually within 4 days after the laser refractive procedure
Some may experience light sensitivity (photophobia) symptoms, tearing, or redness in the first 24 hours after the laser refractive procedure. Do not be alarmed; these symptoms are temporary and will subside
